China's top gynecologist

Bio: Dr. Yong Tan is a Professor and Chief Physician at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine First Clinical Medical College, Director of Gynecology Teaching and Research Section, Director of Reproductive Medicine Department of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine), and Deputy Director of Gynecology Professional Committee of National Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Tan serves as Jiangsu Province’s Director of the Gynecology Professional Committee, Vice Chairman of the Society of Reproductive Medicine, Vice Chairman of the Gynecology Branch of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine, and Standing Committee Member of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Committee of the Nanjing Medical Association. Dr. Tan has a doctorate in medicine from the National Asahikawa Medical University in Japan

Research Contributions & Accomplishments:

Dr. Tan’s research contributions in female reproductive endocrine disorders include motility menstrual disorders, polycystic ovary syndrome, infertility, and menopausal syndrome. She has conducted research on menopausal syndrome with Yin deficiency type and on the effect of tonifying the kidney and regulating the cycle on assisted reproductive technology. In recent years, she inherited and carried out the research of the famous Chinese doctor, Xia Guicheng, on the effect of tonifying the kidney on polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, and corpus luteum insufficiency.

Dr. Tan has presided over six scientific research projects at, or above, the provincial level and has engaged in clinical gynecology education for more than 20 years. For her work, she was awarded the second prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Progress Award and the second prize of Nanjing Urban Women's Science and Technology Invention Award. Furthermore, she has participated in the five- and seven-year programs of "Chinese Medicine Gynecology" hosted by the Ministry of Health and the Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Tan has contributed to numerous medical texts including "Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology", "Gynecology and Obstetrics Nursing", and the bilingual compilation "Chinese Medicine Gynecology". She has also trained more than 20 doctoral and masters graduate students and published more than 30 papers and monographs.
