Drawing from her latest FDA clinical trial research and years of clinical experience, Dr. Xiu-Min Li presented her top treatment approaches to food allergies, food sensitivities, and eczema during her lecture "Traditional Chinese Medicine for Allergy & Inflammation" on July 16th, 2022.
Dr. Li shared how she and her research collaborators launched an FDA Investigational New Drug for Clinical Study of Botanical Drug Development for Food Allergy research project. She also reported that the team created a food allergy-specific formula informed by the classic TCM Mume formula (Wu Mei Wan) formulated by an ancient physician over 2000 years ago.
From this inspiration, the Food Allergy Herbal Formula-2 (FAHF-2) was developed. The herbal constituents of FAHF-2 are shown in Figure 1 and the ingredients and their occupied percentages of the formula are listed below in Table 1:

Through extensive research and clinical trials, FAHF-2 has been demonstrated to be highly effective in improving food hypersensitivity. Dr. Li and her collaborators continue to research TCM's role in supporting those who suffer from allergies and inflammation.
